Design Awards Recap

Last weekend, AIGA New Orleans celebrated its 2009 Design Awards & Exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans. Over 300 entries were submitted this year, and the CAC proved to be the perfect venue to showcase the amazing talent we have here in the Gulf South region.

We handed out over 60 awards for excellence in the broad categories of branding, promoting, informing, entertaining and experimenting. We also acknowledged the personal contributions of Magen Gladden as our Volunteer of the Year. We closed out the night by honoring Christy Hackenberg as our 2009 AIGA New Orleans Fellow for her outstanding contribution to AIGA and the design community. Congratulations to all!

The show will be hanging in the CAC from Dec. 5, 2009 – Dec. 13, 2009. If you were unable to join us for the opening event, please try and stop by this week to check out all the work.

Many many thanks to the CAC for hosting the event, and to all the volunteers who showed up last week to help us get the show up and ready!
