2010-2012 AIGA New Orleans Board Of Directors

This past weekend, AIGA New Orleans held a strategic planning meeting and open call for volunteers and nominees to fill its Board of Directors and necessary chairpersons for the board cycle running from Sept. 2010 – Sept. 2012.

The following individuals were nominated and confirmed by those in attendance for the following positions:

Wes McWhorter – President (continuing)
Samantha Barnes – Secretary
Alison Johnson – Treasurer
Nora Olgyay of Xavier University – Education Chair
Magen Gladden – Programming Chair
Christy Hackenberg – Membership Chair
Chet Overall & Erin Allen – Web & Communications Co-chairs
Tom Futrell & Andy Rosenthal – Development & Community Outreach

As has become customary in recent years, we are presenting this slate of members for review and acceptance by the membership at large. You will have until midnight of August 31, 2010 to voice any objections to this group, otherwise they will be confirmed with the national office of AIGA.

Fresh Fest 2010 Fundraiser

Once again, cashing in on the legendary local music scene, AIGA New Orleans has teamed-up with Chickn+Egg Productions and our newly-minted “Fresh Fest” event which will be hosted by Cafe Prytania. Jan Bertman has been working with AIGA New Orleans on the new logo and Fresh Fest identity.

2010 Student Portfolio Review

It’s “show and tell” time! Get ready for the 2010 Portfolio Reviews coming Saturday, March 20th at Delgado Community College. The 2010 AIGA New Orleans Portfolio Review is a chance for you to practice your interview skills and get valuable feedback from professionals about your portfolio and resume in a no-risk, non-competitive environment. This year’s event will be held at Delgado Community College on Saturday, March 20, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The afternoon features a keynote presentation by Ness Higson.
