Student Portfolio Review (Lafayette)

Student Portfolio Review 2009

The 2009 AIGA New Orleans Portfolio Review is a chance for you to practice your interview skills and get valuable feedback from professionals about your portfolio and resume in a no-risk, non-competitive environment. This year’s event will be held at The LITE Centersee map below – on Saturday, March 28, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The afternoon features a keynote presentation by New York artist, designer, and technologist Joshua Davis at LITE, a state-of-the-industry 3-D immersive visualization research facility located on the UL Lafayette campus.

HOW IT WORKS:
Once registration and payment have been confirmed, you will be assigned at least 3 one-on-one review appointments between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Your review schedule will be emailed out one week prior to the event.

On the day of the event, please arrive at least 20 minutes before your first appointment to insure that you have ample time to register and find your first assigned room. Keep in mind that reviewers will be asked to limit their critique time to 15 minutes, so be prepared to present your portfolio and get feedback within this time constraint.

Portfolio Review is designed to prepare you for the actual interview process. You will be expected to be on time, be dressed accordingly, and be mindful of how you present yourself and your work.

Lunch will be provided for students, volunteers, and the portfolio review team.

WHAT TO BRING:
Come with 8 to 10 of your best portfolio pieces. Additionally, it is a smart idea to bring business cards and several copies of your resume. If you plan on showing interactive or dynamic work, come prepared with a fully charged laptop—and bring along an extension cord (just in case!)
